Thought I’d post one of the final two pages from Future Kings as I wrap up the first issue and get ready to shop it this summer. All of my pages are based first on thumbnails, which are done in Autodesk, then brought over to Photoshop for painting. The painting is done in grayscale then, hard lines are added where needed, then the color is dropped in on a separate layer.

Have to finish up rendering the 2nd panel before I move onto the first, but so far I’m happy with the page (especially the cook’s hawaiian shirt, and the matted reflections in the floor in the first panel). I’m going for a muted color palette so I’ll have to be careful to keep everything dialed down.
