Almost done, have to finish rendering the tall grass in panel 3 and tighten up the guy running in the jacket. also will tighten up the dark lines in certain areas. Page at about 95% completion.

what beautiful colors and shades!
do you overlay your greys with tints of color… or do you use greyed blocks of color?
i guess i’m wondering if you work in the old masters’ layering style or in a more color-blocking style.

Hi Jon,
I actually do the first method. I render entirely in gray and then use the colorizing setting for a brush and go back over the grayed areas. In order to make sure my ambient colors are where I want them, I usually do all this over a certain color that I want to be in all the scenes. In this case the paper was a sort of muted green since everything was taking place outdoors in a farming area.
